QUETTA: Balochistan caretaker Minister for Information Jan Achakzai said on Wednesday that 150,000 undocumented emigrants including Afghan citizens had been repatriated.
Addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club, he said that about 250, 000 undocumented Afghan citizens were expected to repatriate to Afghanistan via Chaman Spinboldak crossing point by December.
He said that Afghanistan posed two kinds of threats to Pakistan. “One threat is from border while other threat is from undocumented Afghan citizens living in Pakistan,” Achakzai said and added that Pakistan wanted to boost trade with Afghanistan because Pakistan and Afghanistan could develop by promoting mutual trade. Goods were being smuggled in the garb of trade after Taliban came into power in Afghanistan, he said.
He said that the Taliban government should refrain from levelling baseless allegations on Pakistan. He called upon the interim Afghan government to handover those to Pakistan who were involved in carrying out terrorist activities in Balochistan.
