Good news! WhatsApp users will soon be able to share status updates on other platforms

n a bid to streamline cross-platform content sharing, WhatsApp is currently developing a feature to allow its users to share their WhatsApp status updates on Instagram as well.

The feature, once introduced, will not only save time but also improve reliability and consistency by streamlining content sharing across the two platforms.

The development came into the limelight after being discovered by the WaBetaInfo in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.25.20 update available on the Google Play Store which provisions “optional sharing” of status updates on the other platform.

As seen from the screenshot above, the underdevelopment feature is likely not to be limited to Instagram only but also applies to Facebook — allowing the users to share a single status update simultaneously across three different platforms once it’s introduced.

However, it is to be noted that the feature will be an “optional” one, giving the users the discretion to choose what content they want to be shared across platforms or not — by enabling the option or otherwise.

Also, the users will remain in control of who sees their content by choosing so through the Instagram story audience settings.

WaBetaInfo highlighted multiple benefits of the said feature with time-saving being the most notable, as it would allow the users to simultaneously share their status on multiple platforms without needing to create individual posts.

For now, the feature to share WhatsApp status updates on Instagram is currently under development and is likely to be introduced to the masses in future updates.
