Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore organized a massive Kashmir Solidarity March on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day. The march started from the State Bank and concluded at Charing Cross. The march was led by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate.The march was attended by Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Azhar Bilal, Deputy Ameers Khalid Ahmed Butt, Engineer Ikhlaq Ahmed, Malik Shahid Aslam, Chaudhry Muhammad Shaukat, Waqas Ahmed Butt, Hafiz Kazim Raza (Shia Ulema Council), Deputy Secretaries Aamir Nisar Khan, Mirza Shoaib Yaqoob, Qaiser Sharif, Secretary JI Youth Lahore Hamza Bilal, and women leaders including Sameena Saeed, Dr. Samiha Raheel Qazi, Uzma Imran, Rashida Shaheen, Zaib Asif, Shazia Abdul Qadir, Shaima Usman, along with central, provincial and district leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami. A large number of women, youth, children, senior citizens and citizens from across Lahore participated in the march. Participants carried placards and banners bearing slogans such as “Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan,” “Kashmir Will Become Pakistan,” and calling for the freedom of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque. The atmosphere remained highly charged with enthusiastic chants. Addressing the participants, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Ziauddin Ansari Advocate stated that the government must not limit Kashmir Solidarity Day to symbolic events, but should take concrete and effective steps to support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. He emphasized that February 5 should not be confined to speeches alone; rather, the nation should be informed about tangible progress made toward the freedom of Kashmir. He categorically rejected participation in the Gaza Peace Board and warned that if any ruler or general utters even a single word in support of Israel, the Pakistani nation will respond forcefully and make an example of it. He further said that the people of Lahore have proven they stand shoulder to shoulder with the oppressed people of Kashmir and Palestine. Without the freedom of Kashmir, the completion of Pakistan remains incomplete. Kashmir and Palestine, he said, are shared issues of the Muslim Ummah and require a clear, firm, and effective strategy for resolution.Deputy Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Khalid Ahmed Butt said that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri and Palestinian people will not go in vain and that their struggle for freedom will ultimately succeed. Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Azhar Bilal criticized the rulers for relying on verbal statements instead of practical measures since 2019.
Secretary JI Youth Lahore Hamza Bilal stated that the youth stand in full solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir and Palestine and will continue to raise their voices on every platform. Other speakers also demanded that the government adopt a clear, comprehensive and effective policy on the issues of Kashmir and Palestine.
