Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Condemns Pre-Ramadan Petroleum Price Hike.

LAHORE (UMAR HAYAT CH) Ziauddin Ansari Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore and Advocate, has strongly condemned the increase in petroleum product prices ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, warning that the move will trigger a wave of inflation. He stated that the government, under the pretext of providing “relief,” is imposing severe burdens of rising prices on the poor and ordinary citizens. Rising inflation, unemployment, and escalating utility bills have already strained the financial capacity of the common man. The increase in petroleum prices will inevitably lead to higher transport fares and a surge in the cost of essential food items, creating serious difficulties for the poor and middle-income groups.Ziauddin Ansari emphasized that raising prices just before Ramadan will make it difficult for families to meet even the basic needs of Sehri and Iftar. He warned that unscrupulous profiteers and hoarders will take advantage of the situation, creating artificial shortages and exploiting the public. He urged the government to reconsider this unjust decision and provide genuine relief to the people during the blessed month of Ramadan. These remarks were made during an important meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore officials, condemning the petroleum price hike. The meeting was attended by Secretary General Azhar Bilal, Naib Ameers Malik Shahid Aslam, Khalid Ahmed Butt, Engineer Ikhlaq Ahmed, Chaudhry Muhammad Shaukat, Deputy Secretaries of Lahore, District Ameers, Secretaries, and Heads of Departments.
