People of Lahore urged to participate in large numbers and express solidarity with the Palestinian people: Khalid Ahmed Butt
LAHORE: Acting Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Khalid Ahmed Butt has announced that a grand “Gaza March” will be held in Lahore on October 7 against the ongoing violence and humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The march will be led by Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch, along with central and provincial leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami.He made these remarks while announcing the march from Masjid-e-Shuhada to the Punjab Assembly Hall in Lahore on October 7. Khalid Ahmed Butt said that the killing of children, women and civilians during the ongoing war in Gaza, along with the resulting humanitarian crisis, raises serious questions for the international community and global institutions. He said that the Palestinian people have been facing severe hardships and suffering for a prolonged period, and international institutions must move beyond expressions of concern and play an effective role in protecting human lives and ensuring a just and sustainable solution to the Palestine issue.He said that the rulers of Muslim countries must also move beyond statements and condemnations and take effective diplomatic and practical measures for the protection of the Palestinian people, the provision of humanitarian assistance and a just resolution of the Palestine issue. He stressed that serious and coordinated efforts by the Muslim world on the Palestine issue are the need of the hour.The Acting Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore said that Jamaat-e-Islami would continue to raise its voice for the rights of the Palestinian people at every forum. He said, “There is life in resistance and death in slavery,” adding that the steadfastness and struggle of the Palestinian people have demonstrated their determination to defend their rights.Khalid Ahmed Butt said that the Gaza March in Lahore on October 7 would serve as a strong expression of opposition to oppression and solidarity with the Palestinian people. He said that citizens of Lahore would participate in large numbers in the march from Masjid-e-Shuhada to the Punjab Assembly Hall and express their moral and humanitarian solidarity with the Palestinian people.He appealed to the citizens of Lahore, people from all schools of thought, women, youth and senior citizens to participate in the Gaza March along with their families and children and demonstrate their solidarity with the Palestinian people.
