Inflation, Lockdown, Educational Restrictions, Energy Crisis, and Housing Fraud Reflect Government Failure.



Protest Announced on May 17 Outside Lahore Press Club Against Fake Housing Societies.
Lahore : Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate has stated that rising inflation, unjustified lockdown measures, restrictions in the education sector, the ongoing energy crisis, and widespread fraud in the housing sector are clear indicators of the government’s failure.He made these remarks while addressing a press conference at Syed Maududi Islamic Center. He also announced that a protest will be held on May 17 outside the Lahore Press Club against the alleged fraudulent activities of private housing societies.The press conference was attended by Deputy Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Khalid Ahmad Butt, Chaudhry Muhammad Shaukat, President Public Aid Committee Qaiser Sharif, Secretary Shahid Naveed Malik, Ahmad Salman Baloch, Mian Usman Afzal, and other office-bearers.Zia-ud-Din Ansari said that despite the ceasefire between Iran and the United States, the continuation of lockdown measures in the country is unjustified. Forcing traders to close their businesses at 8 PM is unfair and harmful to economic activity. He rejected unnecessary Holidays in educational institutions and demanded the restoration of a normal academic schedule, with schools operating six days a week to prevent educational loss for students.He further demanded an immediate reduction in petroleum prices and the elimination of excessive charges in electricity bills. He said that mafias in the electricity, gas, and petroleum sectors are exploiting public resources, while the government has failed to take effective action.Highlighting the seriousness of housing issues, he stated that citizens are being deprived of possession of plots and homes despite paying billions of rupees. He alleged that unapproved housing societies, operating with the alleged connivance of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), are defrauding the public. He urged authorities to take immediate and strict action against such societies and ensure justice for the affected citizens.He also pointed out that people are facing unnecessary hurdles and bribery in LDA offices, emphasizing the need for a transparent and efficient system. He questioned the legal status of having two development authorities—LDA and RUDA—operating within the same city.In conclusion, he urged accountability institutions to provide immediate relief to the victims and take action against those responsible. He reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue to resist unjust policies and stand firmly for the rights of the people.
