Lahore: The Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Ziauddin Ansari has announced that the party will stage a large public protest on Friday, 22 May at 5:00 PM at Masjid-e-Shuhada, Mall Road Lahore.He stated that government policies have made life extremely difficult for the common people, as inflation continues to rise sharply and the repeated increase in petroleum prices has become unbearable for low and middle-income groups.He further said that Jamaat-e-Islami, in response to the call of the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, will actively participate in the nationwide protest movement. He directed all district and zonal representatives, workers, and JI Youth members to immediately launch public outreach, membership drives, and full-scale mobilization efforts to make the protest historic and successful.The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore appealed to the people of Lahore to participate in large numbers in the protest on 22 May and raise their voice against inflation, unemployment, and unjust taxation.These remarks were made during a meeting of all tiers of Lahore’s organizational leadership held at the Syed Maududi Islamic Centre under the auspices of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore. The meeting was attended by district leadership, zonal officials, department heads, political affairs coordinators, JI Youth representatives, and heads of public committees.The meeting discussed in detail the ongoing inflation crisis, recent hikes in petroleum prices, and preparations for the upcoming protest on 22 May.
