
Lahore: Preparations for the public referendum against the Local Government Act 2025, scheduled for January 15, have been accelerated. Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Advocate Ziauddin Ansari, along with Secretary General Azhar Bilal and other officials, have commenced visits to all districts of the city, reviewing campaign activities and coordinating with local leaders and workers.During a detailed review meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore officials, strategies for the referendum were discussed, with directives to intensify outreach campaigns in neighborhoods and marketplaces. It was decided that the public would be informed about the anti-people aspects of the Local Government Act 2025, and voices would be raised in a structured manner at every level.On this occasion, Ameer Ziauddin Ansari stated that if the rulers continue exploiting the public, Jamaat-e-Islami will stand with the people and take to the streets. He emphasized that the struggle against this unjust and undemocratic system is both a religious and national duty, and the party will continue to advocate for the public’s right to governance on all available platforms.
