Skyrocketing Diesel Prices Are an Injustice to the Public; Inflation Has Made Life Miserable.

Government Claims on Reduced Inflation Contradicted by Ground Realities.
Ziauddin Ansari, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Condemns Soaring Diesel Prices and Rising Inflation.

Lahore: Ziauddin Ansari, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, has strongly condemned the recent surge of Rs. 11.5 per liter in diesel prices, describing it as an extreme injustice to the people whose lives have already become miserable due to soaring inflation. He stated that while the government continues to claim that inflation is under control, the ground realities tell a completely different story. Increases in petroleum product prices directly contribute to overall inflation, leading to higher transportation costs and adversely affecting millions of citizens.Ziauddin Ansari further noted that when diesel becomes expensive, the prices of essential commodities such as flour, sugar, rice, ghee, lentils, and other daily necessities also skyrocket, placing the heaviest burden on the poor and middle-class families. The public is already struggling with inflation, unemployment, and low incomes. He demanded that the government immediately roll back the recent increase in petroleum prices, particularly diesel, and take practical and effective measures to protect citizens from further economic pressure. Failure to act, he warned, will only escalate public frustration and hardship.
