RULERS SPEND BILLIONS ON JETS AND LUXURY CARS WHILE CRUSHING THE POOR; WITHDRAW THE PRICE HIKE IMMEDIATELY،
ELITE PERKS MUST BE SLASHED BY 70% AS NATION REJECTS IMF-DRIVEN POLICIES AND U.S. HEGEMONY،
LAHORE (Umar Hayat CH) Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore organized a massive protest sit-in at Mall Road to denounce the historic and “anti-people” hike of Rs. 137.23 per liter in petroleum prices, led by Emir JI Lahore, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate. Addressing a charged crowd of citizens and JI Youth, leaders including Ziauddin Ansari, Secretary General Azhar Bilal, Qaiser Sharif, and Jibran Butt declared that the government has used the pretext of war to drop a “petrol bomb” on its own citizens, proving its enmity toward the masses. They highlighted the gross disparity in the country, noting that while the common man is being ground in the mill of inflation, the Punjab CM is purchasing an 11-billion-rupee aircraft, the Senate Chairman a 90-million-rupee car, and billions are being squandered on new luxury vehicles for the government team. The leadership demanded an immediate reversal of the price hike, a 100% reduction in free fuel and perks for the bureaucracy and ruling elite, and warned that if these demands are not met, the movement—under the guidance of Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman—will expand into a city-wide shutdown. Furthermore, expressing solidarity with Iran, the speakers asserted that the era of American “subservience” is over and that a global shift in the world order is imminent, calling upon the members of the Islamic Movement to prepare for great sacrifices to bring about a systemic change in Pakistan.
