Pakistan-Iran Solidarity Gathering at Jamia Urwat-ul-Wusqa: Emphasis on Unity and Awakening of the Muslim Ummah

Lahore: A grand “Pakistan-Iran Solidarity Gathering” was held at Jamia Urwat-ul-Wusqa on the occasion of the Chehlum of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution. The event was presided over by the head of Tehreek Bedari Ummat-e-Mustafa (PBUH), Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi.The gathering witnessed enthusiastic participation from men and women belonging to both Sunni and Shia schools of thought, prominent religious scholars, intellectuals, journalists, and individuals from various walks of life. Key speakers included the head of Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Siraj-ul-Haq, and Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi. Other distinguished attendees included President of Shia Ulema Council Punjab Allama Ishtiaq Hussain Kazmi, President of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Shia Pakistan Allama Hafiz Riaz Hussain Najafi, Chairman Ummat-e-Wahida Allama Muhammad Amin Shaheedi, President Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan Dr. Mir Asif Akbar, and Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate.
Addressing the gathering, Siraj-ul-Haq stated that the tragedy of Karbala remains a timeless school of thought for humanity, delivering the message of truth, patience, and steadfastness in every era. He emphasized that the struggle against oppression is not confined to any single sect but represents a clear battle between truth and falsehood, where the real strength lies in faith, sacrifice, and unity. He added that standing with the oppressed, including those in Gaza and other regions, is a true requirement of faith, and that the time for silence has passed.
Allama Syed Jawad Naqvi remarked that the growing public resentment against the United States and Israel must not be diverted towards internal divisions or local political disputes, calling such redirection a serious intellectual mistake. He stressed that the real objective of the struggle is not merely a ceasefire but the elimination of systems of oppression, and that the people of Pakistan will continue their ideological and practical struggle toward this goal.Opposition Leader in the Senate, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, stated that freedom is not an easy path; it demands sacrifice and continuous struggle. He said that truth never bows before fear and that the event of Karbala remains a clear and enduring example of the ongoing struggle between truth and falsehood. He further emphasized that the true strength of the Muslim Ummah lies in unity, and that Shia-Sunni harmony is a powerful force against oppression. Speakers collectively stressed the need to promote awareness, unity, and practical solidarity with oppressed people across the Muslim world, while paying tribute to the sacrifices of martyrs.
