Lahore: On the appeal of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore organized a protest demonstration at Ichhra on Ferozepur Road against the increase in petroleum prices, alleged facilitation of Independent Power Producers (IPPs), rising electricity tariffs, flour and LPG mafias, and soaring inflation. The protest was led by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, while Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, delivered a special address to the participants. The demonstration was attended by Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Azhar Bilal, Deputy Ameers Khalid Ahmed Butt, Engineer Akhlaq Ahmed, Chaudhry Muhammad Shaukat, Malik Shahid Aslam and Waqas Ahmed Butt, President JI Youth Lahore Jibran Butt, Deputy Secretary Lahore Amir Nisar Khan, Shahid Naveed Malik, Ameer South Lahore Mirza Abdul Rasheed, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Ahmed Salman Baloch, Sardar Noor Ahmed Dogar, Sheikh Muhammad Anwar and Zahid Imran Korotana, along with a large number of party workers, traders, youth and citizens. The participants demanded the abolition of all taxes imposed on petroleum products, including the petroleum levy, the immediate withdrawal of recent increases in electricity tariffs, effective action against those responsible for artificial inflation in flour and LPG prices, and immediate relief for the public. The protesters further demanded that the price of petrol be fixed at Rs. 225 per litre for the next three years in order to control inflation and stabilize the economy.Addressing the gathering, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, said that the continuous increase in petroleum prices was proving disastrous for both the national economy and ordinary citizens. He stated that rising fuel prices not only increase transportation costs but also lead to higher prices for all commodities, placing a direct burden on low-income and middle-class families. He said that the abolition of the petroleum levy could provide immediate relief to the public, while the benefits of declining international oil prices were not being passed on to the people of Pakistan despite the end of wartime conditions in the global market. He urged the government to immediately restore petroleum prices to previous levels and provide relief from inflation.Ziauddin Ansari Advocate further stated that increases in electricity tariffs were being implemented to benefit IPPs rather than the public, while flour and LPG mafias were openly creating artificial shortages and inflation to exploit citizens. He stressed that it was the government’s responsibility to ensure implementation of official prices and take indiscriminate action against hoarders and profiteers. He said that the current rulers had completely failed to provide relief to the people. Instead of creating employment opportunities, facilities and economic prospects for the youth, they were burdening them with increasing taxes and inflation, while showing little seriousness in resolving public issues. He announced that Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore would continue its struggle for public rights under the leadership of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman. If the government failed to respond to the public’s demands…If you would like, I can also prepare this in an international media format or an official press release layout suitable for newspapers, television channels, embassies, and foreign media organizations.
