Rising Inflation, Electricity Tariffs, and Fuel Prices Have Pushed the Common Man Towards Economic Hardship

Lahore: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, has rejected the recent increase in petroleum product prices, terming it an “anti-public decision” by the government.In his statement, he said that the government had increased the petroleum levy on petrol by 15 percent within a week, thereby imposing an additional burden of inflation on the masses. He stated that the public is already facing severe difficulties due to expensive electricity, load shedding, rising flour prices, higher LPG rates, and continuous increases in the prices of essential food and daily-use commodities.Ziauddin Ansari Advocate said that persistent increases in inflation, electricity tariffs, and petroleum prices have become a major cause of economic hardship for ordinary citizens. He warned that if the government failed to review its policies, public reaction could intensify further, forcing people to take to the streets.He further stated that Jamaat-e-Islami is organizing the public against these policies of the government. According to him, the government’s disregard for public protests reflects a state of indifference, which could lead to nationwide protests, sit-ins, shutter-down strikes, wheel-jam strikes, and long march movements gaining momentum.He reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami would stand firmly against what it described as anti-public policies and would continue its struggle for the protection of public rights and interests.Ziauddin Ansari Advocate also called upon the nation to unite under the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman and extend full support to Jamaat-e-Islami in its efforts to establish an Islamic, welfare-oriented, and people-friendly state in Pakistan.
