


Lahore: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, held meetings with traders, business leaders and shopkeepers in Rehmanpura Bazaar and adjoining areas, urging them to extend their full support to the nationwide strike scheduled for September 3 against rising petroleum prices and inflation.
The leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore and local representatives were also present on the occasion.Speaking to traders and shopkeepers, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate said that the September 3 nationwide strike represents the genuine voice and concerns of the people who are facing the severe impact of rising inflation and increasing petroleum prices. He appealed to the business community in Lahore and across the country to fully support the strike and register their peaceful protest through active participation.
The traders’ representatives assured their full support for the Jamaat-e-Islami strike and announced their decision to observe a complete shutter-down strike on September 3 to record their protest.
Ziauddin Ansari Advocate said that Jamaat-e-Islami’s strike and sit-ins are solely aimed at protecting the rights of the people. Jamaat-e-Islami is struggling for public rights and the resolution of people’s problems without any personal or vested interests.He said that the government must provide immediate relief to the people, as soaring inflation and increasing petroleum prices have created serious difficulties for ordinary citizens as well as the business community.
Ziauddin Ansari Advocate reiterated that: The strike will take place, and the sit-in movement will also continue. Our struggle will continue until the people receive their due rights.”
