LAHORE (Umar Hayat CH)Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate, has intensified his campaign to make the upcoming September 3 nationwide strike and protest sit-ins a historic success. In this regard, he held detailed meetings with office-bearers of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) and leaders of prominent trade bodies, urging them to extend full support against inflation and unjust taxation.Following these consultative meetings, the legal fraternity and trade associations extended their full and unconditional backing for the strike call. LHCBA President Babar Murtaza Khan, Vice President Sohail Qaisar Tarar, Secretary Qasim Ijaz Samra, Finance Secretary Malik Ali Raza Khokhar, and Joint Secretary Samina Basra formally reiterated their support for the September 3 strike. The Lahore High Court Bar Association also announced complete cooperation to make the strike successful.The business community expressed solid solidarity with Jamaat-e-Islami. Chamber members and trade leaders from Ganpat Road—including Shahzad Bhatti, Malik Ahad Amin, and Khamis Saeed Butt—alongside Anarkali trade leader Shahzad Bhatti and Urdu Bazaar trade leader Bao Bashir, announced complete shutdown of commercial centers on September 3.Speaking on the occasion, Zia-ud-Din Ansari Advocate stated that the September 3 strike and sit-ins represent the true aspirations and basic rights of 250 million citizens. He reaffirmed that JI is on the streets solely to protect public rights and liberate citizens from economic oppression. He urged the public to support JI Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, asserting that public unity will force the government to provide genuine relief and withdraw heavy petroleum levies and unjust taxes.
