LAHORE: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Ziauddin Ansari Advocate has said that the rulers must abolish the petrol levy before the September 20 Islamabad March; otherwise, the Jamaat-e-Islami march will turn into a movement to bring down the government. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami would not return from Islamabad without securing the rights of the people.
Addressing a protest sit-in outside the Chief Minister’s House, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate said that the rulers and the elite must end their extravagant lifestyles. He said that providing relief to the people and abolishing the petrol levy was possible by reducing the interest rate by three percent and making necessary amendments to the agreements with Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
He warned that if the rulers failed to demonstrate seriousness and take practical steps to provide relief to the people, public anger would intensify further, and the rulers would have nowhere to escape.
The Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore said that Jamaat-e-Islami was in the field for the rights of the people and was making every possible effort to resolve public issues. He urged the people to make full preparations for the September 20 Islamabad March, saying that a sea of people from across the country would head towards Islamabad.
He said that men, women and youth from Lahore and every corner of the country would reach Islamabad to participate in the September 20 March. Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore fully supports the call of Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman for the September 20 Islamabad March.
He expressed these views while addressing the protest sit-in outside the Chief Minister’s House. A large number of men, women and children participated in the sit-in.
