If it were up to these incompetent rulers, they would even tax the air we breathe: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore
Instead of providing relief, the government is draining the public’s blood by imposing taxes on solar systems: Ziauddin Ansari

LAHORE :Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, has strongly condemned the government’s decision to impose new taxes, licensing fees, inspection charges, and per-kilowatt fees on domestic and commercial solar users. Terming these measures as a manifestation of government malice and anti-public sentiment, he demanded the immediate withdrawal of this cruel decision which is bleeding the public dry.According to a press release issued by the Media Cell of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, Ziauddin Ansari Advocate stated that the current incompetent rulers are so obsessed with taxation that, if they had their way, they would even impose taxes on breathing and oxygen. He emphasized that the government is actively discouraging every initiative that provides even the slightest relief to the citizens. The Ameer of JI Lahore further stated that in this era of soaring inflation, where electricity prices are skyrocketing and load-shedding has made life miserable, citizens have invested their hard-earned savings to install solar systems to escape expensive electricity and unreliable supply. Imposing new fees and licensing requirements is not only an additional financial burden on the public but also a major hurdle in the promotion of renewable energy. He highlighted that while governments across the world are providing incentives to encourage citizens to adopt alternative and affordable energy, the rulers in Pakistan are discouraging solar users, leading to the worst form of economic exploitation.Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore demanded that the government review this anti-public policy. Instead of placing additional burdens on solar users, the government should provide relief and facilitate the promotion of renewable energy to overcome the country’s energy crisis.
