Emergency Meeting at Syed Maududi Islamic Centre Decides to Intensify Public Mobilization Campaign Across Lahore
Lahore: An important organizational meeting, chaired by Acting Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Nazir Janjua, was held at Syed Maududi Islamic Centre, Lahore, to review preparations for the nationwide protest scheduled for August 7, along with public outreach and organizational activities.The meeting was attended by Deputy Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Russal Khan Babar, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, Lahore Secretary Azhar Bilal, Deputy Ameers Waqas Ahmad Butt and Khalid Ahmad Butt, as well as Deputy Secretaries Rashid Daud, Aamir Nisar Khan, Abdul Aziz Abid, Shahid Naveed Malik, Qaiser Sharif, Jibran Butt, and Dr. Mehmood Khan.During the meeting, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Ziauddin Ansari Advocate gave a detailed briefing on the preparations for the August 7 protest. Participants reviewed a comprehensive strategy aimed at ensuring the success of the protest through strengthened organizational coordination, enhanced public outreach, and effective mobilization across the city.The meeting decided to further accelerate the public contact campaign in all districts, zones, neighborhoods, and major roads of Lahore. The campaign will include the distribution of handbills, door-to-door visits, corner meetings, public rallies, and symbolic demonstrations to encourage maximum public participation in the August 7 protest.Speaking on the occasion, Acting Secretary General Nazir Janjua said that the August 7 protest would represent the voice of citizens suffering from soaring inflation, repeated increases in petroleum prices, heavy electricity bills, and worsening economic conditions. He emphasized that the nation must unite under the leadership of Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman to struggle against the prevailing corrupt system and to establish honest, competent, and people-centric leadership.Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore Ziauddin Ansari Advocate said that awareness rallies, door-to-door public outreach campaigns, corner meetings, and symbolic demonstrations were continuing across all districts of Lahore. He added that the distribution of handbills and direct interaction with citizens in every zone, neighborhood, and locality had been intensified to ensure maximum participation in the protest.He expressed confidence that Lahore would emerge as the center of the nationwide public protest against inflation on August 7, with thousands of citizens participating to raise a strong voice against inflation, unemployment, and anti-people economic policies.
